Those who know us best also know that it has been our dream for what seems like forever to live there. So, rather than talking about it for one more second, we decided to try our hardest to make it happen. As soon as we got back from our last vacation there, Jay fiercely started applying for jobs and got an interview with a dealership almost immediately. He flew out and back in one day and within 24 hours he was notified that he got the job! He starts in two weeks so as you can imagine, things are a little chaotic/stressful/exciting at our house as we tie up loose ends, sell off our furniture that is just too big to move and prepare ourselves for moving our entire life to the West Coast. To make things a little less stressful, Jay is going first and the boys and I will follow a few weeks later. Giving ourselves just a little more time to get things in order. Though I'm SO not looking forward to life without my husband, our dream is finally coming true so a little sacrifice at the beginning of our new adventure is definitely worth it.
And, as much as we are excited for this huge event happening in our lives, we are sad too. We are leaving behind some of our nearest and dearest friends and family. For me, I'm leaving behind the only home i've ever known for a new life in a place I know little about. But, like we've told ourselves many times already, we can always come back. What we can't always get back are opportunities like this, so we are not going to pass it up. And we can't wait to begin this next chapter in our lives. I read a quote the other day that seemed so fitting.. it says: "Life is like a coin, you can spend it the way you wish, but you only spend it once." So, California here we come! And to everyone we are leaving behind... just come visit!! We would love to be able to share our little life in California life with you :0).
