And She's Off

To China!!
My best friend, from when I was only three years old, has set off on the adventure of a life time. Some think she's crazy but personally, I could not be more proud of her for doing this. And all by herself too!!

For those of you who don't know, Miss Chanelle is my bestest bestest friend. I met her in preschool and although those were the only years we spent at school together, we always stayed super close. Now that we are all grown up and have lives of our own, we don't always get to spend as much time together as we would like. Regardless of that, I would do anything for her. And, I know she would do the same for me.
As I think back at all of the important things that have happened in my life, I always see her. Because she has always been a part of them.

We may not have been born from the same family but we were meant to be sisters anyway. I am thankful for the relationship we have and believe that I am a better person for even knowing her.

Chanelle, I know it's probably scary to be setting out on this four month adventure. Where you won't know a soul. Where you won't be able to speak the language. And where you will be thousands of miles away from those who love you. But enjoy every second of it! You are going to have the greatest time ever, I just know it!! I love you to the moon China and back!

To Michelle (Chanelle's mama), I know you already don't know what to do with your self but she will be just fine! She misses you too but she's discovering life in the big world :0) I hope you're proud of the beautiful human being you created.

P.S. I expect you to tell me all of these same things when I'm crying as my son leaves me too - it's inevitable I know... ;0)

See you on skype Chanellie!! Xoxo from New Mexico

Savin' Money & The Environment

Check out my new ride! ;0)

As gas prices fluctuate and sky rocket into ridiculous-ness, I have decided to stick it to the oil man and join those people who ride the city bus. In order to get to work I have to drive approximately 20 miles, one way. For Albuquerque, that is considered far! I hate doing it. Fortunately for me I live right next to The Northwest Transit center which is a very nice, clean, safe bus stop where I can catch a commuter bus to work.

It picks me up only about five minutes earlier than I would normally leave and drops me off just in time to walk through the base gate and be to work on time! Perfect!

Second awesome reason to take the bus is, it's free! For me at least... because my work gives it's employees free unlimited bus passes - score! I never thought that was a good incentive, but I do now!

I really don't think it could work out more perfectly. It saves money, it saves my car, it helps the environment by keeping one more car off the road for the day and it gets me a little exercise. Why did it take me so long to start doing this?? I don't have an answer to that but I do know that as for now ABQ Ride will be my newest form of transportation to and from work.

See ya at the bus stop!! :0)

He's a Biter!

My son is amazing at growing teeth. Over the last three weeks since I've posted (which I apologize for being so M.I.A.), teeth FIVE and SIX (yes he already has that many!) made their debut and whenever he actually let's me take a peek at those pearly whites, I can see teeth SEVEN and EIGHT right at the surface of his gums. He's only 8 months old!! This seriously has to be some sort of record. I told him that after these last two make their official appearance, I hope this teeth growing thing takes a break for awhile - poor baby has been feeling the pain of this for way too long. In the meantime though, it's lots of toys to chew on so that we can ALL get some relief ;0)

P.s. Consider this your warning. If he happens to get your fingers in his mouth, he will bite you. Hard.
